Movie history was made today in 1997 with the release of James Cameron’s  “Titanic”, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Kate Winslet, Billy Zane and Kathy Bates. It would turn out to be become the biggest grossing movie of all time.

The budget for the film was estimated to be $200,000,000.

The opening weekend the movie brought in $28,638,131

As of June 2012 “Titanic” has grossed $2,185,372,302 worldwide.
