In response to the events of Bloody Sunday in Derry, Northern Ireland January 30,1972, Paul and Linda McCartney wrote a song about the troubles. The song Give Ireland Back To The Irish was released as Wings’ debut single this week 43 years ago in the UK and was promptly banned by the BBC.
