This weekend Oct. 21-22, film industry professionals and festival-goers from across the state will be at the PIX Theater in downtown Lapeer for the 4th annual Made-In-Michigan Film Festival. Presented by the Made-In-Michigan Film Society and the Lapeer County Film Office.

This two-day film festival starting at 6 p.m. on Friday will present 46 short and feature-length independent films covering all genres and all having a material connection to the state of Michigan. This is the only film festival that is exclusive to Michigan-made film.

The film festival’s growth is perfectly aligned with the Made-In-Michigan Film Society’s goal to showcase and promote the State of Michigan and as many Michigan-made films as possible while providing a low-cost cultural, experience for the local community.

Tickets are $6 for a full a day of films or $10 for a weekend pass.

On Saturday night, the official Made-In- Michigan Film Festival Afterglow Party will be held at Pueblo Viejo. The Afterglow Party will offer an opportunity for professional and aspiring film industry members to network and socialize while giving festival volunteers a chance to relax and relish in a job well done. Admission to the Afterglow Party is free and open to the public however festival ticket holders will receive a special discount on their food purchases, drink specials and access to the Pueblo Viejo appetizer and catered dessert table. LA Taxi will be providing free and/or discounted transportation for ticket holders both Friday and Saturday.

Throughout the festival, the Film Society will host a hospitality room at Gallery 194 featuring a catered buffet courtesy of Countryside Banquet Center for filmmakers, press, sponsors and volunteers. General public ticket holders can upgrade to a VIP Pass for just $25, receiving access to the Hospitality Room, additional discounts and privileges at the Afterglow Party and a free movie pass compliments of NCG Cinemas.
