August 22nd was quite the busy day for the The Beatles. In 1962, the first TV appearance of The Beatles was recorded at The Cavern Club in Liverpool during a lunchtime gig.

1965, The Beatles, performed two shows in Portland, Oregon. In between the performances The Beatles had visitors waiting in the dressing room, a couple of members from the Beach Boys Carl Wilson and Mike Love.

Two events on August 22, 1968, Ringo Starr quit The Beatles during the White Album sessions when the tension between band members became too much for him.Ringo's exit was kept secret and he would come back to the sessions about a week later.

On that same day John Lennon's wife, Cynthia, sued John for divorce after discovering Yoko Ono was living in their London home.

Then on August 22, 1969, The Beatles met at John Lennon's home for their final photo session. Photographs from the shoot formed the front and back covers of the album Hey Jude.
