A Knack For The Eighties – Today’s Vinyl Vault

Capitol Records

Even though The Knack first hit in 1979, their look and style were so associated with the 1980′s that they became thought of as an 80′s act, with the other “new wave” types from ’78 or ’79.  It was fun and simple – a very welcome alternative (for most) to the stale radio recipe of Journey, Styx and Kansas at the time.  Although very few of these new bands would ever enjoy staying power, their brief section of rock’s history was an interesting one.  Let’s re-visit it today with their only hit My Sharona, either on the radio or on-line, around 5:20pm.
