Steve Winwood just put Traffic back together in 1971 after a brief hiatus that included some solo work and Blind Faith, projects that gave him a renewed fresh creative boost for his old work horse of a band.  The new Traffic music was much more mature and defined, with less emphasis on the jazzy feel and more on a progressive direction.  Released at the tail end of that year, the Low Spark of High-Heeled Boys set was a masterpiece and easily one of the biggest albums of 1972, thanks in part to today's Vault track, Rock N Roll Stew, sang by drummer man Jim Capaldi.  We'll do the trippy extended version around 5:20pm.  Out of town?  Listen on-line.
