Today is World Hepatitis Day and last night the Allman Brothers Band rocked out for an awareness show on it.  You may recall that Gregg Allman had to undergo a liver transplant due to his own bout with the disease. He recently said:

“I was diagnosed with it and then I waited.  I waited so long it turned into cancer so I had to have a transplant and man, nobody wants to go through that.  Doing nothing is not an option.  It really isn’t.  My advice would be go down to your doctor and get a blood test.  That’s all it takes.”

Proceeds from last night's gig will go towards organizations that provide education and support services to people with Hep C.  More info is at TuneInToHepC.
