Amber Alert Issued: 3-Month Old in Backseat of Car When it Was Stolen

An Amber Alert has been issued for 3-month old Dakota Grimes, who was sleeping in the backseat of a white Chevy Impala when it was stolen early this morning.

Police say the girl's father left the car running while he went to go inside a liquor store at 16636 Harper Ave. on Detroit's east side.

Dakota weighs 12 pounds, and was last seen wearing a winter coat and a pink onesie. She has brown eyes and black hair.

The Chevy Impala that was stolen has noticeable damage to the driver's side bumper and trunk, and the driver's side tail light has red tape covering it. The Michigan license plate number CPG-8598.

Anyone with information about Dakota or the vehicle is asked to call 911 immediately.
