Ann Arbor’s Twenty Pound Carp is Swimming Back for Write-in Votes Today
Would you write in ‘Twenty Pound Carp’ on your ballot?
Some would say, this is why we cannot have nice things, while others think it’s a local political stand when it comes to Ann Arbor’s City Council.
According to an article from MLive, the famous Twenty Pound Carp is back and has taken to social media to encourage city residents to write in Twenty Pound Carp for the city council position. The self-proclaimed “bottom feeder” has even taken to Twitter to offer up some solutions for the city and driving tips:
“IF CARS BEHIND YOU ARE HONKING, YOU HAVE PULLED TOO FAR BENEATH THE LEFT-TURN ARROW. YOUR FELLOW-DRIVERS ARE INDICATING IT’S SAFE TO TURN.”

I’m all for a good ‘ol fashioned sarcastic taunting, but I am not so sure about this campaign. I mean, I think the political climate now has really driven home to me that fact that we have to take politics, especially local politics very seriously. But then again, this fish does have pretty solid points.
