The Friends of the Flint River Trail will host a “Ride of Silence”. Joining hundreds of other cycling groups across the nation, this annual tradition honors those cyclists killed or hurt in vehicle accidents in the past year.

The event also seeks to bring awareness of cycling to motorists, and to encourage them to ‘share the road.’  Also to inform all cyclists to obey the rules of the road to decrease interference with motorists.

The FFRT riders will assemble at the Flint Farmers’ Market on East Boulevard Drive on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at 6:45 PM. The ride will begin – in silence – promptly at 6:55 PM. The ride is less than 10 miles in length, and winding through the campuses of Mott Community College and the University of Michigan – Flint and other neighborhoods.

All riders are strongly encouraged to wear helmets.
