I love eggs. Not egg whites, or egg beaters. I love the egg in it's entirety! It figures that a new study suggests that egg yolks can be as bad as smoking for your heart. Yikes! Hit read more for details.

A new study, conducted by Western University in Canada, suggests that having egg yolks as a regular feature of your diet is just as bad as smoking for coronary artery disease. The study looked at men and women with an average age of 61.5 years old, and found that consuming three or more egg yolks a week over an extended period of time is two thirds as bad as smoking for the risk of a build up of carotid plaque in the heart's interior wall. That plaque build up can lead to strokes and heart attacks. These researchers stressed that "regular consumption of egg yolks should be avoided by persons at risk of cardiovascular disease."

Does everything that tastes good have to be bad for you? I guess I'll have a cheese omelet, hold the cheese, hold the yolk. Never mind...why bother?
