Officials in AtticaTownship have adopted a resolution opposing the proposed ET Rover pipeline. The gas line would cross into Attica Township between Hunters Creek and Sutton Roads. Environmental, safety, property value and additional EMS and fire department training cost concerns are listed in the document. The resolution also states the proposed pipeline is “merely a ‘pass through’ to another country which does not necessitate serving the common good of Michigan residents beyond Livingston County.”

The document goes on to say "Attica Township is home to heavily wooded areas, farmland and meadows. The construction of the proposed pipeline would not only be devastating to the environmental aesthetics of our woodland, farms and meadows but also put them at risk” and “Attica Township contains the Belle River and the Belle River watershed and construction of the proposed pipeline would pose a threat to our very sensitive wetland ecosystem."

Natural gas pipelines are regulated by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. Residents interested in commenting on the proposed pipeline can do so through FERC’s eComment System using docket number PF14-14-00.
