Eric Clapton has put together a great tribute album to his old friend J.J.Cale. Due out on July 29th, “Eric Clapton & Friends: The Breeze, An Appreciation of JJ Cale”, has 16 Cale songs done up by Eric, Mark Knopfler, Willie Nelson, Tom Petty, Derek Trucks, Don White and John Mayer.
Paradise Animal Rescue on M-24 south of Burnside Road is looking for donations of wet dog food, wet cat food, scoopable cat litter, catnip mice, cat nail trimmers, paper towel and manila file folders. The rescue is also seeking volunteers for AM and PM chores, fundraising and a volunteer coordinator.

One my favorite rock and roll musicians passed away on this day back in 1997. Ronnie Lane, bass player for the Small Faces and, later, the Faces, died at his home in Colorado. Ronnie was only 51 and had an ongoing battle with multiple sclerosis since 1977.
The Imlay City Downtown Development Authority’s Free Summer Concert Series at Lamb-Steele Park gets underway this evening (6/3) with "The Gasoline Gypsies". This Port Huron band is really good, they play a little bit of everything from rock and roll some folk and blues and country-bluegrass.
