I've wanted to do radio since I was a little kid. I joined the staff at 105-FM WWCK in 1977 and stayed until we were all fired in 1988. I then joined Cars 108 WCRZ for ONE NIGHT in 1989. Please don't remind J. Patrick of this. I've worked at various stations ever since, currently afternoons on US1031 WQUS. I also do photography. Check it out on jeffholbrook.com.

A Welcomed Traffic Jam – Today’s Vinyl Vault
Steve Winwood just put Traffic back together in 1971 after a brief hiatus that included some solo work and Blind Faith, projects that gave him a renewed fresh creative boost for his old work horse of a band. The new Traffic music was much more mature and defined, with less emphasis on the jazzy feel and more on a progressive direction...

Sabbath Fans – Ronnie On Today’s Vinyl Vault
The best Ronnie James Dio era Black Sabbath album is without a doubt Heaven And Hell from 1980. It was the first time Ozzy Osbourne wasn't involved in a Sabbath project and Dio's presence brought much change to the band and it's sound...

Rarely Heard Alice Cooper – Today’s Vinyl Vault
One of my favorite Alice Cooper albums will always be Killer, from 1971. The band had cut its chops with super producer Bob Ezrin the previous year with Love It To Death, so this was the obvious next step ... progressive rock. I think they pulled it off pretty well...

Trooper was a Juno Award winning Canadian act that enjoyed much success there during the late 1970's and early 1980's. Signed and produced by Randy Bachman during the hit years, they managed only one US hit, Raise A Little Hell from 1978's Thick as Thieves album. Y...

Back When Chicago Rocked – Today’s Vinyl Vault
If you can, forget about the milky pop direction that Chicago took during the 1970's and concentrate on their first few years together, 1968-1970. Those were the formative years when the band was experimenting with jazz rock sounds that few others were making...
Keep Your Pets Calm This 4th
Yes, this little guy's ears are huge but they don't have to be to cause them serious stress when hearing loud noises. Loud noises like firecrackers or fireworks. Our pets have hearing much more sensitive than our own, no matter the size of their ears...
Snowfest Pics To Cool You Off!
Frankenmuth, Michigan is a favorite destination for Debbie and me, both summer and winter. Well, preferably summer. In the winter time though, some popular attractions hit the town that bring folks in from out of state, like the snowfests and ice sculpture displays...
