I've wanted to do radio since I was a little kid. I joined the staff at 105-FM WWCK in 1977 and stayed until we were all fired in 1988. I then joined Cars 108 WCRZ for ONE NIGHT in 1989. Please don't remind J. Patrick of this. I've worked at various stations ever since, currently afternoons on US1031 WQUS. I also do photography. Check it out on jeffholbrook.com.

Lovely Song For Mom – Queen on The Vault
The rarely heard Queen rocker Tie Your Mother Down is the Vault track today, by request. With all due respect to mothers everywhere, it's a tongue-in-cheek thing, says writer Brian May. "It was meant as a joke." Freddie, years later, added "I don't know...

Cool Who – Into Quadrophenia on Today’s Vault
Classic Who today from an album thought of, at first, as another "rock opera." It actually wasn't, nor was Tommy, but collections of songs that were related to the same stories. Wouldn't "Concept" albums would be a better description...

Wooden Ships Sail Today’s Vinyl Vault
Back to the summer of 1969 and an album considered by many classic rock fans as one of the best ever recorded, the first Crosby, Stills & Nash set. Not only did it introduce these three immense talents to the world, but helped change the landscape of music in the late 1960's. ...

Rarely Heard Blind Faith – Today’s Vinyl Vault
One of the more interesting projects from both Steve Winwood and Eric Clapton's past would probably be the Blind Faith project in 1969. Both musicians were in transitional periods so they didn't really know what they wanted to do and it was fleeting, ending soon after it began...

"Lyrical" pursuit that is, this afternoon at 4:15pm. Our buds at Suddenly Salad have come through with this cool salad shaker that has a removable ice pack and dressing dispenser, similar to the one shown. Who thinks of this stuff? It could be yours if you correctly identify those song lyrics...
Serious Zeppelin – Today’s Vinyl Vault
Led Zeppelin fans can't miss today's Vinyl Vault - one of the deeper things on Physical Graffiti that is hardly ever on the air. Remember Ten Years Gone? Of course. Moody, dark Zep as only they could do it. One of the "new" tracks, at the time, from a double project that also included older unused material...

A Knack For The Eighties – Today’s Vinyl Vault
Even though The Knack first hit in 1979, their look and style were so associated with the 1980's that they became thought of as an 80's act, with the other "new wave" types from '78 or '79. It was fun and simple - a very welcome alternative (for most) to the stale radio recipe of Journey, Styx and Kansas at the time...
