Slayer guitarist Jeff Hanneman has died at the age of 49, according to a statement released by the band today (May 2). He was with the group since their formation in 1981, and appeared on each of their studio albums, most recently 2009's 'World Painted Blood.'

The Rolling Stones have announced the first dates of their 2013 '50 and Counting' North American tour, which will visit nine cities in May and June. Former guitarist Mick Taylor will be a "special guest throughout the tour," to use the band's own words.
Irving Azoff, who manages everyone in Van Halen not named David Lee Roth, has declared that there are no plans for the band to mount an extensive tour in Europe this year, contradicting the singer's statement from a recent radio interview.
