Tom Hanks is one of the few Hollywood mega-stars we’d trust with our nation’s history. No offense, major A-listers, but handsome doesn’t always equal intelligent. But Hanks has flexed his obsessive interest in historical events in outstanding films and dramas series such as ‘Band of Brothers,’ ‘Saving Private Ryan’ and ‘Apollo 13.’ And a new report suggests Hanks is ready to tackle one of America’s top controversies: The JFK assassination.

‘Expendables 3′ Going After Four Action Icons?
Though ‘The Expendables 3′ isn’t a given yet, virtually every action star from our collective youth shows up in ‘The Expendables 2.’ Planet Hollywood partners Stallone, Willis and Schwarzenegger are present. Chuck Norris and Jean-Claude Van Damme get in on the fun this time around. They join contemporary butt-kickers Jet Li and Jason Statham. If they were to move ahead with ‘The Expendables 3′ we have a short list of action icons we’d hope to see on screen alongside this cavalcade of macho talent – and from what we hear, four such grizzled veterans might be ready for their glorified cameos.
