Beatle Wigs Come To America 50 Years Ago

Keystone,Getty Images

Couple of items out of The Beatles history book that happened today. First up from February 19, 1964, a company out of England sent a 1,000 pound shipment of Beatle wigs to the United States for Mop Top wannabes, like the girls in the photo. I imagine somewhere out there in the corner of an attic there’s a box with a Beatles wig inside it.

On this day in 1965, the Beatles where recording a John song that took two takes to put together “You’re Going To Lose That Girl.” The tune would be part of “Help” soundtrack.

Join me weekday mornings at 6:30 for Fab Four music and stories on “The Beatles Breakfast Jam.”
