Bob Costas who had been leading the broadcast of the Olympics in Sochi was taken off the air to recover from a double eye infection. The infection began on Thursday in one eye and by Monday had spread to both eyes. Matt Lauer who is also in Sochi to cover the Olympics will take his place in the mean time. Tonight's absence will end a streak for Costas as he has anchored 157 consecutive Olympic prime-time broadcasts for NBC, dating to the Summer Games in Barcelona, Spain, in 1992.
