Poison singer Bret Michaels has enjoyed an interesting life that’s included being a rock star, appearing in several reality television shows, and working behind the scenes with his own film-production company.

While he’s definitely been in front of the camera as a musician and television star, Michaels is in perfect position to also take a more focal point within his film production company as well. The rocker told the Columbus Dispatch that he would like to bring his life story to the big screen.

“I want to tell the story,” says Michaels. “Mostly, when you see rock movies, it has to be this over-the-top thing. I want to give people a Bret Michaels movie where they see that my life is a comedy of errors. I also want to show my fans how to get through the kind of troubles that would leave most people flat on the floor.”

The singer says he envisions the film starting with his youth in Pittsburgh and following his journey to becoming a rock star and his drive to continually succeed.

He told the paper, “[My motto is] work hard, but play harder. Never keep up with the Joneses. Live your life on your terms, meaning fit your life to suit you. Most important – and I mean this from the heart – take nothing for granted.”

While the film version of his life story is on his list of things he’d like to do and he does co-own a film production company, there has been no official movement as of yet on making that a definite.

At present, he’s next project is finishing the star-studded ‘Bret Michaels and Friends: Get Your Rock On‘ solo disc, with guest appearances by Ace Frehley, Joe Perry, Lynyrd Skynyrd and more.

He’s also been touring with Poison this summer on a tour with Def Leppard and Lita Ford.
