Stop by the Brown City Area Fire Department fire hall at 4090 Main Street this Saturday (10/13) from 10 AM to 2 PM. for the Fire Safety Open House.

10 AM – 2 PM - Fun and Interactive Stations and Demonstrations

10 – 11 AM - Sign up for Fire Truck Rides (Adult Signature Required)

11 AM - LifeNet helicopter landing

1 PM - Jaws-Of-Life demonstration

12 – 2 PM - Lunch provided (Hot dogs, pop, water, popcorn)

October is National Fire Prevention Month, a time to be aware of ways to help learn fire safety and prevention. This week is Fire Prevention Week and the theme is "Look. Listen. Learn. Be aware - fire can happen anywhere.”  According to the National Fire Protection Association, this year’s theme identifies basic but essential ways people can reduce their risk to fire and be prepared in the event of one:

• Look for places fire can start
• Listen for the sound of the smoke alarm
• Learn two ways out of each room
