Bruce Springsteen's archives have a new home.  Monmouth University in West Long Branch, New Jersey will soon become the permanent location for an extensive collection of rock memorabilia relating to Springsteen and the E Street Band. Monmouth's President Paul Gaffney says his school is "the perfect location for this outstanding collection," which features close to 15-thousand documents from 44 countries spanning Springsteen's 40-plus-year career.  Gaffney believes that both the students and faculty at Monmouth "will benefit greatly from having access to these documents."  He adds that he hopes the collection will "also serve as a valuable resource for members of the academic community."

While the Springsteen memorabilia had been housed at the Asbury Park Public Library, the move will bring it to a bigger space and allow for expansion to include recordings, film, and other material.  The public will also have easier access to the collection.

The Springsteen "Special Collection" will officially arrive at Monmouth on November 1st.
