High School artists from around Lapeer County have their work on exhibit at Gallery 194 now through Saturday, May 11th. A reception that is free and open to the public will take place Saturday, May 4th from 4pm to 6pm at the gallery featuring these talented student artists.
April 8, 2013 "Kulture Shock" an exploration of automotive inspiration and lowbrow art is now open at Gallery 194 in downtown Lapeer. The show will run through Saturday April 27th and the public will be able to meet and engage with the artists and other “Kustom Kulture” car enthusiasts at a free reception Friday, April 12th from 6:00pm to 8pm.

This Saturday, February 2, from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. enjoy the “Hard Shell Gourds Workshop” at the Seven Ponds Nature Center on Crawford Road in Dryden. Learn everything from growing and drying gourds, cleaning out the gourd, to different techniques for decorating gourds. You’ll get to make your own beautiful piece of gourd art.

November 16, 2012 The Holiday Happening at Gallery 194 is Lapeer Art Association"s largest, most art packed show of the year and the second in which LAA art is shown throughout Gallery 194. Several hundred pieces of art – pottery, metal, wood, painting, drawing, photography, jewelry, fiber art, basketry, candles, note-cards, etc. – are for sale for the holiday gift-giving season.
This is the final weekend for this year's Renaissance Festival. Many fans think it's the best one to attend, for a few reasons. Most people have already gone to it so the crowds may be lighter (I wouldn't believe that for a second!) and some of the artists or eateries may offer deep discounts

Ann is a Colorado certified botanical illustrator & sculptor. She teaches art at
the Colorado Center for the Blind.
The cost for the class is $210.00 which includes twelve hours of instruction and all necessary tools & materials, worksheets & handouts. All you need to bring

Seagulls are pesky birds. I have always thought so. But a seagull in San Francisco swiped a camera from a French tourist while she was taking pictures of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, and the video that the camera continued to record is pretty amazing. Catch it after the jump.
