Today Is National Paul Bunyan Day

Paul Bunyan is a very popular character here in Michigan with at least a half a dozen statues paying tribute to Paul and Babe, The Blue Ox. The one I'm familiar with is in Oscoda. According to roadarch.com, this Paul Bunyan statue is about 13 feet tall not including the base. The statue was originally paper-mâché, built as part of a J. L. Hudson Department Store float for the Thanksgiving Day parade in Detroit.
