The 3rd Annual Inspiring Hearts for Autism Fundraiser Dinner hosted by Lapeer Area Sisters in Service will be this Saturday, April 26 from 1:00pm to 5:00pm at the Inspiring Hearts for Autism Center located at 2020 Imlay City Road, Lapeer. The fundraiser dinner menu will include a taco bar, desserts, punch and coffee.
Thursday, April 24th is the kickoff to "Art on Nepesssing St", a celebration of the arts in Historic Downtown Lapeer! It includes exciting exhibits of high quality art, displayed in businesses in downtown Lapeer and donated to The Center for the Arts of Greater Lapeer, and the Lapeer Downtown Business Association. The two and a half week event concludes with an Arts Festival in downtown Lapeer and a special closing gala where the donated artwork is raffled off.
Make plans to be at the PIX Theater this Saturday, April 26th. for “Fracking in your Backyard?” An informational program dealing with the process of fracking, which involves pumping large volumes of water, sand and chemicals beneath the ground to split open rocks and allow for oil and gas to flow.
Seats are available for the Lapeer Skywarn “2014 Tornado Spotter Training.” The class happens at 7 pm on Thursday April 17th at Lapeer East High School, on Saginaw Street. Pre-registration is required at lapeerskywarn.org
A couple of events this Sunday for the neighborhood children. First stop the Lapeer V.F.W. Post on Daley Road just off M-24, Easter Egg Hunt and Easter Bunny visit. Registration begins 10am and the Easter Egg Hunt at 11am.
There will be a fish fry today April 4, at the Bishop Kelley School Community Room from 4:30 until 7 pm. Enjoy all-you-can-eat baked and fried fish, baked potato, corn or green beans, cole slaw, roll, dessert and drink.
The 21st Annual Lapeer County 4-H Celebrity Autograph Auction will be held at the Lapeer Center Building on Friday, April 4. Items autographed by sports, television and movie stars, musicians, authors and politicians will be featured.
