In observance of the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War, the Lapeer Vietnam 50th Anniversary Commemorative Committee will be holding events throughout 2015, 2016 and 2017 in honor of Vietnam veterans, POWs, MIAs and their families. Events kick-off at the American Legion Post 16 in Lapeer on March 6, 7 and 8, with an exhibit of Vietnam War memorabilia and artifacts.

Heat Up Lapeer Polish Dinner

Don't forget about the Heat Up Lapeer Polish Dinner tomorrow (2/15), being put on by The Lapeer Knights of Columbus to benefit St. Vincent de Paul Society. Proceeds will aid Lapeer area families with utility needs this winter. The dinner goes from 1:30 pm to 6 pm at the Bishop Kelly Catholic School Community room. Chatfield Art Show On Display At Gallery 194

Now through February 28th, Gallery 194 presents the Chatfield Art Show. Student work from the Chatfield School will be on display until Saturday, February 28. Stop by today (2/11) for a reception that's free and open to the public from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Art Educator Nick Lange says “Every student from Chatfield will have a piece included in the show. That means there will be over 350 pieces of artwork on display.”

Gary Burns organized the program about 10 years ago to give kids the opportunity to experience and learn to play good, classic rock music as a band, without all the negative influences.

With the help of Paradise Animal Rescue, he was transported to the All About Animals Rescue’s high quality/low cost spay and neuter clinic in Warren, examined before surgery by and neutered by a licensed veterinarian.
