Almont Raiders Football Set To Take On Lansing Catholic In Semifinals

The Division 5 quarterfinal high school football game at Almont on Friday night was another great win for the Almont Raiders. River Rouge was Almont’s latest victim. At the half the Raiders had the lead with the score at 14-12. The second half was all Almont scoring 21 more points with final being Almont 35 and River Rouge 12.

Informational Meeting About Lapeer Grain Company

There will be a meeting for producers on Monday (11/10) at the Lapeer Township Hall from 4 PM – 6 PM about the status of Lapeer Grain Company after seizure notices were posted at all five elevators. The Michigan Department of Agriculture has suspended them from accepting produce in Lapeer, Imlay City, Capac Jeddo and Palms based on their inability to pay producers within certain time requirements.

Lapeer County Animal Control Director Resigns

Lapeer County Animal Control Chief, Carla Frantz, resigned her position last week. Frantz, 43, hired into animal control in 1994. She began as a kennel officer, was promoted to road officer, and in May of 2012 she replaced Walt Rodabaugh as chief.
