Mega Clothing Giveaway Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday

The Lapeer Seventh Day Adventist Church will be holding a Mega Clothing Giveaway on June 10 from 10 am to 6 pm and on June 11 and 12 from 10 am until 3 pm. Gently worn clothing will be offered and there will be something for everyone. Donations are always welcome.

M-24 Reconstruction Pushes Back Phase Two to 2015

We've been dealing with the M-24 construction and it's detours and delays. Now, it appears that Phase II of the project is going to wait until next year. The project was initially delayed this spring because of the deep frost that kept the ground frozen nearly a month longer than expected, so it doesn't appear that there will be time to get the second phase in this summer.

Stabbing Bicyclist Draws Long Prison Term For Lapeer Man

The man accused of an unprovoked attack on a bicyclist in Lapeer will spend the next 18 to 35 years in prison. Lapeer County Prosecutor Tim Turkelson said that Dakota L. Turn, 22, pled guilty to assault with intent to commit great bodily harm and habitual offender status on May 9th.

Metamora Man Faces Charges For Serving Booze To Minors

After police received reports of underage drinking at a party in November, the Metamora Township Police Department was sent to a home on Winding Pine Drive in the Brechtwood subdivision. They issues more than 25 citations for minors in possession of alcohol, and in February they issued a warrant for James C. Amato, 51, for contributing to the delinquency of minors, and five counts of providing minors with alcohol.
