The owners of the dogs believed responsible for the death of a Livonia man are expected to face criminal charges according to the Lapeer County Prosecutors Office. Craig Sytsma, 46, died last Wednesday after he was viciously attacked by two large dogs while he was jogging on Thomas Road.
Craig Sytsma, from Livonia died of his injuries after being attacked by two dogs in Metamora Township on Wednesday night. Sytsma worked in nearby Oxford and had apparently decided to go for a jog after leaving work.

Circuit Court Judge Byron Konschuh is going back to the courtroom this Friday, but it won't be in Lapeer. They will appear before the 66th District Court Judge Terrance Dignan in Shiawassee County. Konschuh faced arraignment of five counts of embezzlement by a public official of more than $50.

The dog in the photo needs our help. His name is Wakosha and he's a five month old Australian Shepherd puppy training to be a helper for his owner Ken Kinyon who lives in a wheelchair. Ken lost Raven his previous service dog of 16 years who passed away last year. He has been waiting for a new puppy to love and train for over a year.
The major construction in downtown Lapeer is on time with it's scheduled plans. The reconstruction of Court Street that runs between Nepessing and the bridge that runs over Farmer's Creek is proceeding as planned. The Lapeer Department of Public Works reports that contractors have finished installing new water and sanitary pipes on Court Street and grading is underway. More projects are involved.
It’s time for the annual Attica Days celebration on July 11, 12 and 13. Festivities begin with a spaghetti dinner and auction at the Attica Township Fire Department Hall on Peppermill Road followed by fireworks at the township park and enjoy another fireworks display on Saturday night.
