The owners of the dogs believed responsible for the death of a Livonia man are expected to face criminal charges according to the Lapeer County Prosecutors Office. Craig Sytsma, 46, died last Wednesday after he was viciously attacked by two large dogs while he was jogging on Thomas Road.

U of M Flint is offering a grant for veterans to study nursing; the program is aimed at bringing more military veterans into the nursing profession. The grant is called Veterans Serving Veterans: the University of Michigan-Flint’s Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program for Veterans.

A memorial pine tree planted at the Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles paying tribute to George Harrison -The Quiet Beatle- is being replaced. The reason for action is because beetles infested the tree causing its downfall. The tree was planted in 2004 to honor George who spent his last days in the Los Angeles area before his death in 2001.
Circuit Court Judge Byron Konschuh is going back to the courtroom this Friday, but it won't be in Lapeer. They will appear before the 66th District Court Judge Terrance Dignan in Shiawassee County. Konschuh faced arraignment of five counts of embezzlement by a public official of more than $50.
