Jean Shepard’s book ‘In God We Trust, All Others Pay Cash’ inspired the 1983 film ‘A Christmas Story.’ The film did well upon release, but in the intervening years it’s become a holiday classic. So much so that it inspired a sequel in 1994 (‘It Runs in the Family’), and now the “official” sequel ‘A Christmas Story 2.’

When ‘Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace 3D’ was released this past winter, the plan on LucasFilm’s behalf was to release a 3D-converted ‘Star Wars’ film annually, at approximately the same time each year. That plan gets tossed into Sarlacc’s belly as of today: LucasFilm has announced, via press release, that ‘Attack of the Clones’ and ‘Revenge of the Sith’ will be coming out within a month of each other next fall.
Stan Lee has been a good company man for Marvel – he’s appeared in pretty much every modern Marvel movie ever made and has generally be a positive brand ambassador. But geez, even Stan Lee kinda hated the ‘Fantastic Four’ movies…
A reoccurring theme of movies during the mid-’80s was that of scrappy kids beating the odds. Daniel-son had to defeat the Cobra Kai in ‘The Karate Kid’ and the teens of Calumet, Colorado had to fight off most of the communist block in ‘Red Dawn.’ But probably the biggest underdogs were ‘The Goonies,’ a band of misfits from the goon docks of Astoria, Oregon who had to outlast a fugitive family to find the amply booby-trapped treasury of 17th Century pirate “One-Eyed Willie” and prevent their parents’ homes from being turned into a golf course.
‘The Expendables 3‘ looks like an all but certain sequel at this point and while Sylvester Stallone and his crew appear to be ready for another adventure, they’ll have to do so without Chuck Norris who says he’s not interested in returning for the third film.
All the orphans from the movie ‘Annie’ lived a hard knock life — considering audience members really only gave their two-cents to the title character — and were always looking forward to tomorrow. By the end of the flick, it looked like they had a brighter future, but what really happened to those orphans from the 1982 movie ‘Annie’?
Though Pixar has yet to formally announce ‘Finding Nemo 2,’ the animation studio is quietly working hard behind-the-scenes to prep for the upcoming sequel. Director Andrew Stanton recently signed a deal to return and now come reports the Ellen DeGeneres is in talks to once again voice the forgetful fish Dory.
