Jimi Hendrix Gone But Not Forgotten

September 18,1970 a sad day for music lovers  Jimi Hendrix died at the age of 27 in London. People on the scene that day 42 years ago say Jimi could still be alive if he had been put into an upright position in the ambulance rather than left lying on his back, and he wouldn't have suffocated on his own vomit. He also might have been saved from death if the nearby hospital admitted people of color.

One of my favorite TV shows debuted on this date in 1990 on NBC "Law & Order".  The show was the beginning of a great acting career for Chris Noth as Detective Mike Logan.  I especialy enjoy the years of the show that had Chris teamed up with Jerry Orbach playing Detective Lennie Briscoe.

Remembering September 11, 2001

Today is Patriot Day. On September 11, 2001, four planes were hijacked. The hijackers then flew three of the planes into three buildings, the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon in Washington DC. The fourth crashed into a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania. Nearly 3000 people died in the attacks.

Remembering The Day We Lost Stevie Ray Vaughan

On August 26, 1990, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble played a concert at the Alpine Valley Musical Theater in East Troy, Wisconsin, that featured Eric Clapton, Buddy Guy, Robert Cray, and Jimmie Vaughan. After the show, four helicopters that were reserved to fly the artists and their crews back to Chicago.
