CLAPTON TALKS SONGWRITING

Yesterday Eric Clapton turned 66. During his lifetime, he has been behind many an amazing song, but writing tunes has never been easy for the singer, as he explained.
“When I was writing, for instance, things like ‘Wonderful Tonight’ and what appeared to me to be a fairly simple little song became really quite important and always viewed as being good work. I then drew the conclusion that maybe I could do this, maybe it was something I could become good at and at same time, still found it incredibly hard.”

Another album featuring some great tracks Eric wrote is Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs. That set just turned 40 and this week, a 40th anniversary edition of the record came out, and he is forever on the road. Learn more at EricClapton.com.
