Van Halen are the rare band that's seen success with a pair of singers, but the dynamic personalities of the group have often left fans wondering if and when the band will record and tour and with which vocalist. While David Lee Roth fronted and toured with the group behind 2012's A Different Kind of Truth, the singer question popped up again earlier this year with some fans eager to read more into Sammy Hagar and Eddie Van Halen's pleasant Twitter exchange on Eddie's birthday. While Roth has not said much since the inevitable reunion rumors with Hagar began to spread earlier this year, he did address it in a round about way during the open of his latest Roth Show posting.

During the open, Roth was going on about the point where you're no longer considered dangerous in the view of others and he was discussing getting a tattoo. But in the course of his discussion, he explained, "It’s not like my career path is going to get altered. I sort of know what the next 10 summers are going to bring -- Eddie Van Halen aside, those are ups and downs."

He went on to add, "I don’t know when we’re going to tour but I have a sense that we will. I don’t know that we’re going to record again, when that’ll happen, but I have a sense that it’s gonna happen."

So while that doesn't specifically offer any timeline for the Roth-led Van Halen's return, it does indicate that the charismatic vocalist is still part of the picture and expects that there is a future with the group.
