Deep Purple Teaming Up With Bob Ezrin for New Studio Album
In the past, Deep Purple often looked no further than each other when it came to selecting a producer.
But for their forthcoming studio effort, guitarist Steve Morse and company have recruited someone with an impressive resume: Bob Ezrin, best known for his work with Kiss, Alice Cooper and Pink Floyd, among many other legendary rock bands.
“He’s one of my favorite producers,” Morse recently told Glide Magazine. Morse is not just speaking as a fan: While a member of Kansas, he worked with Ezrin, who produced the band’s 1988 album, ‘In the Spirit of Things.’
The new DP studio album, Morse adds, is “probably going to be more of an extravaganza. Everybody realizes we’re not going to do this forever, so to me it feels like this is a really important album to do well.”
