It was quite the shake up in Allen Park today as the owner of the Detroit Lions made some drastic changes. Martha Ford held a press conference this afternoon confirming rumors that General Manager Martin Mayhew and Team President Tom Lewand were relieved of their duties with the Lions, after what she described as a very disappointing season.

Ford said at the press conference, "We are very disappointed with the results of the season so far, and believe a change in leadership was necessary." She went on to assure fans that while the roles will be filled on an interim basis while they conduct a thorough search for the best possible candidates to move the team forward.

She also went on to say that there would be no changes with the coaching staff. Do you think this alone will help the Lions? Do you think the coaching staff needs to go too?
