In observance of the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War, the Lapeer Vietnam 50th Anniversary Commemorative Committee will be holding events throughout 2015, 2016 and 2017 in honor of Vietnam veterans, POWs, MIAs and their families. Events kick-off at the American Legion Post 16 in Lapeer on March 6, 7 and 8, with an exhibit of Vietnam War memorabilia and artifacts. The exhibit will be open from 9 AM – 5 PM and will include demonstrations of military service related items, a POW/MIA ceremony, a display of The Quilt of Tears (a traveling memorial in honor of those who died or are dying from exposure to Agent Orange) and more. American Legion Post 16 is located at 1701 West Genesee Street in Lapeer.
