Jon and Vangelis was a duo that are better known individually.  Jon, being singer Jon Anderson from Yes fame, and Vangelis, the keyboard wizard that hit it big with the soundtrack to Chariots of Fire.  Together, they had a marginal hit in 1981 with today's Vault track 'The Friends of Mr. Cairo', which is a tribute to the old Hollywood film noir classics, most notably, 'The Maltese Falcon'.  In it you hear voice impressions of  Humphrey Bogart, Peter Lorre, Jimmy Cagney and others, along with screeching tires of getaway cars and freaked out girlfriends, all while the music plays on.  It's definitely from the 'weird' files and never gets on the air anymore, making it perfect for the Vinyl Vault!
