The 7th Annual Michigan Food, Beer and Wine Fest is this Saturday at Dort Event Center, and we think you should be there.

Tickets are $30 right now or $55 for the Soaring Eagle Golden ticket which gets you free parking and sampling before everyone else at 5 pm. Here are five reasons you should buy your ticket today.

1. You save $15 if you buy your ticket before Saturday.

Tickets will be $45 at the door, so save some money and buy your ticket early. Each general admission ticket comes with either a wine or beer tasting glass, 10 drink tickets, and 5 food tickets. Our friends at Dort Federal Credit Union may have a discount code for you on their Facebook page.  If you want to sample without the lines, the Soaring Eagle Golden Ticket is available for $55. You also get free parking and access to the Soaring Eagle Lounge inside the event with the golden ticket.

2. You can find a new favorite Michigan Beer.

Every ticket comes with 10 sample tickets for beer and wine. You can purchase more sample tickets for $1 each. We have well over 100 Michigan beers this year including some favorites like Bells, Founders, Shorts, Blakes Hard Cider, and Atwater. We also have some new breweries joining us this year like Greenbusch, Lansing Brewing, and Monkey Fist. See the full list of breweries here.

3. If you are a wine drinker, we have great Michigan wines for you.

Michigan has some great wineries. Our state has over 13,000 of vineyards, making us the fourth largest grape-growing state. November 3rd is also National Wine Tasting day. Why not celebrate with some of the great wineries at the Mi Food, Beer, and Wine Festival? Some of the wineries we are excited about are Thunder Bay, Cherry Creek, Superior Lake Mead and Cider, and St. Ambrose Cellars.

4. We have great food at this years' festival.

We are excited to eat our way through the festival this year. Each attendee will get 5 food sample tickets that can be used at any of the great restaurants or bakeries at this years' event. We will have USA Concessions, Donna's Donuts, Yeller Dog, YaEatYet?, Poco Loco, Taster Layers, Chocolates by Michelle, Fun with Frosting, and Smokin Aces BBQ all sampling delicious items. If you want more than 5 sample tickets, you can purchase more for $1 each.

5. We are adding liquor.

New this year, we are adding a small liquor sampling area. Liquor samples will be 1/2 ounce pours and may require more than one ticket per sample. Detroit City Distillery will be providing the Michigan liquors for sampling. They use all local ingredients from our great state. They will have Homegrown Rye and Butchers Cut Bourbon.
