Humans are not the only species being affected by the lead in Flint water - dogs are too. Honestly I have not thought about animals drinking the water. Duh! Obviously it has to be affecting them as well.

Students and techs at MSU College of Veterinary Medicine have tested dogs only at screening events and found 7 dogs with lead toxicity. I am guessing there are a lot more out there. Sad. Veterinarian James Averill said owners should give their dogs only filtered or bottled water, and keep toilet lids closed.
