Head to Frankenmuth tomorrow (8/1) for all things bees and beekeeping at the Fourth Annual Michigan Honey Festival. Learn how to start your own hive with advice from local beekeepers, make mead, extract honey and find out what plants attract pollinators. Not into beekeeping? Feed a butterfly in the Butterfly Tent, sample locally-produced Mead, visit the honey sampling table with samples from every honey vendor in attendance or find a local beekeeper to purchase honey from. Everything from honey, plants, ointments and bee balms to soaps, lotions, oils and honey bee shirts will be available for purchase. Demonstrations, speakers, vendors and children activities will be on hand throughout the day. The festival will be held at Harvey Kern Pavilion on Weiss Street from 9 AM – 5 PM. Admission for adults is $5. Children 14 and under are free. For more information and a schedule of events, visit michiganhoney festival.com.
