Veterans and Active Duty Military will receive free admission to the Eastern Michigan State Fair today (7/30). The event, sponsored by Kroger, will feature a visit by the VA’s Mobile Vet Center and a host of Veteran services. Veterans and Active Duty personnel are required to show proof of service to gain admission. A DD 214, VA medical ID card or a membership card to a veterans service organization will suffice.

The Mobile Vet Center is a self-contained vehicle which houses a satellite link and a private room for one-on-one counseling. VA counselors will be on hand along with the Lapeer County Department of Veterans Affairs staff. Veterans will be able to learn about benefits they’ve earned. Other organizations that provide services for veterans, including education, starting a business and health care will be on hand. “We’re grateful to Kroger for sponsoring this event, providing free admission for Veterans and Active Duty Personnel,” said Edward L. Ronders, LCVA director. “We urge Veterans to take advantage of this offer and to stop by the Mobile Vet Center and find out what we offer and what benefits they have earned.”
