Take a trip back in time and have some family fun on the farm this Saturday at the 9th Annual Davis Brothers Farm Fest. Experience what things were like in the country back in time.

Good old-fashioned farm activities all day long. Learn about beekeeping, take a wagon ride, visit the alpacas, watch a sawmill in action, antique farm equipment, a petting zoo, sheep shearing, a farm shop with an operating chain-driven lathe and forge, maple sap-to-syrup, and live vintage country and bluegrass music.

Kids can make and fly a kite, have fun playing in the corn box, see goat milking, rural school games of yesteryear, and much more.

Locally-grown produce will be raffled off every half during the festival. Two crocheted afghans, will be up for raffle. There’s a free drawing for a children’s John Deere tractor.

From 11:30 until 1:30 it’s the Thresher’s Dinner, which includes roast beef, mashed potatoes, tomato slices, coleslaw, sweet corn and homemade bread. Adult dinners are $10 in advance and $11 at the door, and children under 12 eat for $5. Tickets are available at the main office of Lapeer County Bank & Trust or from any historical society board member.

The 9th Annual Davis Brothers Farm Fest will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at 3520 Davis Lake Road just west of Lapeer. Sponsored by The Lapeer Historical Society.
