Got a note from an old friend local author Chris Dungey that Paul Revere, the organist and leader of Paul Revere the Raiders, had died. Chris was having a flashback to his first big time rock concert headlined by Paul Revere and the Raiders at McMorran Arena in Port Huron. The band always made me feel good anytime I saw them or heard their songs.

Paul (born Paul Revere Dick) passed away “peacefully” at his home in Idaho after battling cancer. He was 76

The band hit the music scene in 1963 when they released their version of Louie, Louie before doing their own songs like Kicks, Hungry, Good Thing and many more including the group’s biggest hit single in 1971 with Indian Reservation.

Take a look at the remembrance of Paul at paulrevereandtheraiders.com.

Here's the band appearing on Robin Seymore's Swingin' Time, broadcast on Channel 9 from Windsor.
