Genesis formed around 1967 and had a rather successful go at it, especially in Europe, where their odd brand of progressive rock was much more acceptable than it was here.  Peter Gabriel's weird ideas and stage costumes simply made them an interesting curiosity over here.  It wasn't until they began producing more commercial fare that the word got out with us, more and more, that by the time the successful Lamb Lies Down On Broadway album was released in 1974, Gabriel was leaving, allowing drummer Phil Collins to become more of a leader.  The band soon exploded to super stardom, as did Gabriel's quirky solo career.  Lets celebrate that last Genesis album with Gabriel by spinning the title today, around 5:20pm.  Out of town?  Listen live on-line.  One of Gabriel's earlier costumes show here.
