Last week it was reported that KISS' Gene Simmons had received a lifetime ban from Fox News after crashing a staff meeting and allegedly indulging in some bizarre behavior. Now the musician has issued a statement of apology for his actions.

According to the Daily Beast, Simmons statement read, "I have appeared frequently over the years on various Fox News and Fox Business programs and have a tremendous amount of respect for the talented women and men who work there. While I believe that what is being reported is highly exaggerated and misleading, I am sincerely sorry that I unintentionally offended members of the Fox team during my visit."

Simmons was at Fox News to appear on the Fox & Friends show, speaking about his new book On Power. During his interview, he was asked about Harvey Weinstein and the rash of sexual harassment claims in Hollywood. He later reportedly burst into a staff meeting and is alleged to have shouted "Hey chicks, sue me" while baring his chest, told some pedophilia jokes and bopped two employees in the meeting on the head with his book.

It has not been revealed if Simmons' apology has had any effect on his current lifetime ban from the Fox News headquarters.
