The Lapeer District Library’s Marguerite deAngeli Branch has partnered with Rebekah’s Health and Nutrition Source and will show the movie "GMO Roulette" on Saturday, September 28th. at 1:00p.m.

GMOs (Genetically Modified Organisms) are genetically engineered plants that are resistant to disease, pests and environmental conditions. These crops are also modified by scientists to increase the shelf life and the nutritional value. There is much controversy about GMOs and question about whether they are ethical and safe. GMO Roulette focuses on the health concerns from consumption of genetically modified organisms. The movie answers questions such as “Are organic foods the answer?” and “Do food labels really tell me what is in the product?”
