On November 3, 1975, David Hartman and Nancy Dussault became the first names on what is an ever-growing list of people who have come into our homes, become a part of our morning routine, and almost a part of our families. Being 37 myself I remember David Hartman well, but I remember his co-host being Joan Lunden. And who could forget the hilarious Spencer Christian?

When David retired, we got Charlie Gibson. Not sure how I felt about David leaving, Charlie won us over with his charm, good humor and, of course, he's a damn fine journalist. In fact, Charlie Charles Gibson would go on to anchor ABC World News following the death of Peter Jennings.

America has grown a lot in 40 years, and it's interesting to hear about the major world events from the people who actually brought it to you!
