San Diego band Iron Butterfly had their 15 minutes of fame (OK, 17 minutes) in 1968 when the title of their second album went through the roof.  In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida was a drunken slur mishearing of "In The Garden Of Eden", after which, the boys got such a kick out of, the slur stuck.  This story has many versions but would you trust these guys to ever tell it right?  The fact is, the tune is king of the psychedelics, probably a trail blazer for harder edged psychedelia that Hendrix, Steppenwolf and others experimented with.  It closes psychedelic week today on the Vinyl Vault.  Set some time aside around 5:15 or so and groove along!  Out of town?  Listen live on-line.
