Lapeer County Veterans Affairs invites you to have some fun and help raise money for the LCVA's Outreach Program. On Saturday January 19th it's the the inaugural "Bowling in Bow Ties" event at Gerlach’s Bowling Center in Lapeer.

A few openings remain for teams to sign up. The program includes bowling, raffles, an auction, 50/50 drawings and appetizers including bacon wrapped water chestnuts, mini beef wellingtons, cheese and meat tray, meatballs, southwest egg rolls, boneless wings tossed in chili sauce and brownies. The menu is provided by Louie’s Sports Tavern.
Bowling in Bow Ties team entry is $40 per bowler with four bowlers per team. The entry fee includes appetizers, one game of bowling, shoe rental and entry into a prize drawing. There are four openings for VIP bowling teams with registration fee of $300 for four members. That includes two complimentary bottles of wine, an individual charcuterie tray, appetizers, bowling and shoe rental.

Proceeds from the event go to the Lapeer County Veterans Affairs Outreach program. The LCVA is marking its 50th anniversary this year and outreach events planned to mark the occasion include a series of workshop focusing on VA health care, financial management for veterans including a focus on the VA Home Loan program and a 50th anniversary program.
